Hi Lee,
What would you recommend to add to make this to smell nice?
Lavender or some essential oil 🙂
Hi Lee, I’ve always worried about adding vinegar to the washing machine – especially on its own as surely it would strip colour from clothing. Now with baking soda added, it would seem a double whammy of a natural bleach. Most of my clothes are dark (a lot of black) and I’ve had to resort to using liquid wool wash which I dilute into lots of water before adding to my machine – and still I get the odd “whitish” patch on my black clothes. So I’m reluctant to try vinegar and soda as a softener. Is it really okay for dark clothing? BTW I stopped buying fabric softener years ago when a washing machine tech stated that it gummed up the machine and also made the drainage system sticky. And of course – reduces absorbency of towels.
